Under the motto “Transformation with Quality,” the 2025 Munich Metropolitan Region Award for Building Culture honors already completed mixed-use neighborhoods, city and district centers, and places that foster harmonious coexistence in the region—all of which serve as exemplary models. One such example is the Werksviertel-Mitte in Munich’s Werksviertel district, which was awarded a special prize in the “Places for Harmonious Coexistence” category.
The jury praised the project “as an exceptional example of urban transformation, demonstrating how the preservation of existing structures can significantly contribute to fostering identity and acceptance of vibrant neighborhoods.” The Regional Housing Conference and the European Metropolitan Region of Munich Association, together with steidle architekten and OTEC GmbH & Co. KG, cordially invited guests to the kickoff of the “Transformation with Quality” event series in Munich’s Werksviertel on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
